2017 Toyota Camry

If you’ve been following me for any time at all, you know that my absolute favorite thing to do is travel (I mean, I even decided to do it for a living at one point). So when Toyota offered up one of their pretty 2017 Camrys for me to take down to Savannah, GA last weekend, I said yes and yes.

I’ve always claimed that I’m not a car person, but I now have a serious case of new car fever. Not good. This is my favorite time of year for so many reasons, the weather being one of them. I connected my phone to the Bluetooth stereo, rolled down the windows, opened the sunroof and rode around singing at the top of my lungs. When I finally got cold, I turned on my seat warmers… and kept singing, duh.

Embarrassing story time. Last week, I was trying to navigate on my phone in downtown Atlanta. Do you already know how this ends? Yep, I had my first fender bender.  I ended up with a small hole from a truck hitch, but the truck didn’t have any markings so he just left. I got really lucky and now my car has more character (making light of it, but I was shaking like a leaf). I shared my bad driver story with you because there were a few features in the Camry that rocked my world.

First, if you drift outside of your lane, the car will beep to inform you. If you do it continuously, a little coffee cup illuminates on your dash telling you “hey chick, pull over and wake up.” Secondly, if you are pulling up on a car too quickly and it is braking, “BRAKE” illuminates on the dash and beeps (where was this genius feature last week… sigh). Third, there is a blind spot monitor that flashes on your side mirrors to let you know it isn’t safe to switch lanes.

And best of all, there’s built-in navigation on the dash so you don’t have to look down at your phone. It even monitors traffic so you don’t need your Google maps app all. I should stop there… but guys, this thing has just a bit more power than my ole Civic I’ve been driving since I turned 16. Or a lot more power, woah. I didn’t realize how much my car hesitates when I hit the gas. Thanks for that, Toyota. (;

Southeast Toyaota Distributors, LLC (“Toyota”) provided me with compensation and use of a vehicle for a short period of time. The opinions I have shared about this vehicle are my own.

It has always been so hard for me to find a turtleneck that isn’t too frumpy on me. Anyone who’s as short as I am knows that it’s a struggle to rock the flowy looks (they add on 10 lbs). This turtleneck is so soft and thin – my idea of the perfect sweater! A) It’s flattering, B) I’m so hot-natured that it ensures I won’t burn up inside. I brightened the look up with a fringe scarf that’s just as soft and wore my favorite Hudson jeans that I’ve talked about many times over the years. This cozy outfit will be on repeat in the office this winter.

I’m still in the process of unpacking in my apartment, but I absolutely LOVE my new place guys! If you follow me on snapchat you’ve seen small updates. My commute from work has shortened from 2 hours each way to 20 minutes. PRAISE! I have energy and time . for me againI’ve even gotten back into my workout routine! I’ll share reveal pictures as I finish decorating… hopefully that’s sooner rather than later.

Hope you’ve recovered from Thanksgiving and shopping madness. Now it’s time to kick Christmas cheer into full gear! I am determined to get unpacked this week so that I can still decorate this year and enjoy it. Speaking of, if anyone knows of great places to find affordable trees and cute decorations, please comment/tweet me! xx

Green Sweater Dress

I hope your Thanksgiving was nothing short of amazing, and you ate enough to fuel you through the crazy that is Black Friday! Every year I say I’m not getting out into the madness, but every year my family shops for a little bit. We sort of do it for kicks and giggles but I’m definitely more of a Cyber Monday kind of girl. hehe

If you remember me gushing over this orange sleeveless turtleneck here, you’re not surprised that I love this olive sweater dress. With it being 70 degrees on Thanksgiving Day,  it was the perfect dress to throw on that still fits the season. I grabbed a plaid blanket scarf to double as a wrap when it cooled down at night. It also looks adorable with a leather jacket and tights!

Have a fun day shopping with your family, running off that extra stuffing, or in my case, eating all of the leftovers! xx
