I by no means have ever considered myself an interior designer, but I had a blast designing my bedroom in my new bachelorette pad. I recently moved to the city and wanted a fun room for such a fun, new chapter in my life. I’m 25 and single… I think this room matches my personality to a tee.
This was my first time creating a mood board for a room (I usually wing it), and it really helped me to figure out what liked. I weeded out things that were overkill and brought in more neutral pieces. I’m infamous for adding too much color and I knew I wanted this room to be more “grown up,” like me (lol).
The first choices I made were what my main furniture pieces would be. I have been admiring mirrored furniture for years – however, I was worried that it might be too trendy. I went for it anyway but decided to balance it out with an upholstered headboard and fun bench. I added sass with two navy 18×18 pillows + a leopard lumbar pillow – as if the leopard wasn’t fun enough, I brought out the orange and pink in my rug by added yarn poms to the corners.
My mirrored nightstand is usually sold out, but it is restocked regularly. I signed up for restock notifications and purchased it immediately after being emailed. Might sound obsessive, but it was sold out again a few hours later. It’s a great price… worth the fuss. I love this oversize beaded glass lamp to continue the glitzy feeling.
Arguably my favorite thing in the room is this hot pink rug. I chose an 8×10 to make sure you didn’t miss all of its cuteness.
The mirrored dresser is not made by the same designer as my nightstand, the matching nightstands to the set were smaller than what I pictured, but I made sure the metals and legs matched, then swapped out the knobs. It’s sturdy, beautiful and a reasonable price. Win-win-win.
I am thrilled to finally be living in the city and for all of the adventures to come, but with a room this cozy, it might be difficult to make me leave. 😉
