When it comes to tights, I am oddly..borderline overly..particular about the waistband. It stemmed from my year-long stint of being a flight attendant. I lived in pantyhose (they were a uniform requirement), so I quickly learned my priorities. First, they had to have a comfortable band that also stays put. No one looks ladylike tugging at her tights. Secondly, they couldn’t be so sheer/cheaply made that they instantly snag. I learned that I’d rather invest in a quality pair that will last, as goes with anything else I buy.
This black pair that I recently discovered from Hipstik Legwear meet all of my criteria. They have a silicone strip to keep them in place, but it isn’t the tight rubbery kind that I have regrettably purchased in the past. If you’ve made the same mistake, you know that they rub you raw. You aren’t sure if they stayed in place or not because your waist lost blood-flow long ago. PTSD. I also love the low-rise, lace waist. I rate them A++.
I couldn’t get to the checkout counter fast enough when my eyes spotted this buffalo check mini. I love buffalo check, especially red and black (duh go dawgs). Plus it couldn’t be more festive! I wore it with dressy boots and a gray sweater to work, but swapped for black and a statement necklace for a Christmas party. It clearly sparked some plaid mini inspiration because I gather a few cute options for you below.
